About Your Role
A key part of your goal is to aid the WHSE Manager with meeting legal compliance, implementation of safety management systems (principal contractor, legal & internal policies & procedures), builder requirements, daily checks & assessments and following up and closing out of safety issues. We are looking for someone that shows initiative, is passionate about safety in construction and loves going to work every day.
Reporting to the WHSE Manager, your main responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Preparing WHS documents, and assisting site management with filling out all applicable paperwork
- Documenting, archiving, and ensuring all documents are in place for set audits from the WHSE manager.
- Assess and provide recommendations on how to rectify safety issues that will affect the health and safety of our workers
- Conduct daily site inspections
- Implementation and compliance of company policies and procedures
- Implementation and compliance of principal contractor policies and procedures
- Hands on safety work may be required or the organizing of such
Requirements and Experience
- Previous experience in a construction safety officer role
- Previous experience on a construction site with Tier 1 Builders & building sites
- Certificate 4 in WHS as a minimum
- Good understanding of latest OH&S regulations
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Experience implementing and driving change to continually enhance and improve delivery
- Proficient in desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
