The HR Intern will gain experience in the day-to-day functions of Human Resource Consulting and will also have the opportunity to work on special projects with managers. The intern will be exposed to a very diverse and dynamic company and will be encouraged to help define better ways of maintaining and distributing Human Resource information.
Work Hours: 20-38 hours per week, with hours available Monday through Friday.
Specific tasks might include:
- Processing applications and sending correspondences
- Posting job descriptions and creating a recruiting history
- Conducting telephone interviews
- Interacting with potential employees regarding their application
- Updating HR information and files
- Sending reference checks
- Completing paperwork for new hires, transfers, and separated employees
- Processing flexible spending account claims
- Responding to request for information regarding company benefits.
Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree - majoring in Human Resource Management or related field
- Working knowledge of the regulatory and legal issues affecting Human Resources
- Able to effectively interact with employees and managers in a team environment and one-on-one
- Able to maintain confidentiality of various projects
- Strong computer skills
