Chill Wine Co are seeking a vibrant and passionate full time Human Resource Consultant. This is a new position, located in Orange, NSW, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Head Winemaker to create and deliver HR initiatives that support winery operational performance and capability as well as management of culture and wellbeing.
Chill Wine Co is a family-owned and run wine business in the Orange wine region of NSW. We make ultra-premium cool climate wines for our brand RIKARD Wines as well as contract winemaking, contract wine bottling & vineyard management. We operate a cellar door on site at our winery.
Chill Wine Co is expanding and as such, requires a full time HR consultant. The HR consultant will assist in the delivery of growth targets through resourcing, performance management ad capability development.
This is a varied and exciting role where no day is the same. At Chill Wine Co we are a young, vibrant and small team with ambitious leaders who are passionate about what we do. Working experience in a wine related regional business or similar is preferred.
The duties you will be expected to deliver in this role include, but are not limited to:
· Keeping accurate records of any position vacancies, as well as records of staff personal records, job descriptions, wages, and conditions of employment (including any Award or enterprise agreement)
· Maintaining a portal on relevant human information systems
· Preparing advertisements for vacant positions and managing the selection process including shortlisting of applicants and interviewing suitable candidates for vacancies
· Keeping staff and employers abreast of job vacancies, as well as continuing to provide updates to candidates as necessary
· Deciding between best suited candidates having regard to business needs and culture, and attending to induction of chosen candidate
· Advising staff members on (and fielding requests on) salaries and conditions of service
· Advising staff of KPIs and bonuses
· Appropriately advising management and employers on workplace relation policies and procedures, staff performance, and disciplinary matters
· Providing information to employers and job seekers regarding current job vacancies within the organisation
· Handle negotiations with staff and employers regarding terms and conditions of employment, and provide timely and sensible advice in regard to disputes and grievances
· Creating and implementing enterprise agreements and collective contracts, workplace relations policies and programs
· Remain up to date with legislation and awards in order to accurately interpret and implement collective agreements, employment contracts, wage payment systems, and dispute settlement procedures
· Organise and implement avenues for workplace consultation and employee participation initiatives
To be successful in the role you must have:
· At least two years of relevant experience and a Bachelor of Human Resources/ Business or equivalent
· OR at least five years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications
· Experience in developing relationships at a variety of levels with strong interpersonal skills
· Be self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple activities, adapting to changing conditions
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a person-centred approach, while managing a degree of responsibility in your role
· Demonstrated ability to hold difficult conversations and negotiate
· Good business acumen and understanding of rural and small business operations
· A current drivers licence
This is a full time position of 36 hours per week. Flexible working hours can be negotiated.
