About the role
Reporting to the HR Manager and working as part of a small HR team, you will be responsible for overall coordination and administration of key HR processes across the employee life-cycle. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an industrial, unionised environment and exposure to all facets of Human Resources. This role will require a motivated and resilient individual with a desire to learn and deliver. This will be predominately based in Port Botany, with time spent at our Head Office in Sydney CBD.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage a range of HR administrative processes.
- Resolve a broad range of employee queries from the workforce.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS (Oracle).
- Provide support with recruitment processes (job posting, screening, interview scheduling, pre-employment checks).
- Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of employees as per established processes.
- Coordinate HR initiatives/projects including engagement activities, events etc.
- Provide support to leaders in the management of lower-level disciplinary matters.
- Ensure adherence to Company policy, procedure and processes.
- Assist in reports and correspondence.
- Process HR invoices in line with procurement and finance processes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline (desirable).
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a HR Administration role or similar.
- Previous experience with HRIS or similar systems (desirable).
- Knowledge of HR, systems, and processes.
- Strong customer service focus, and an ability to build and maintain quality relationships.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative.
- Developed planning and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to deliver in a fast paced and complex organisation.
- Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
