About the role:

Referred to internally as the People & Development Coordinator, reporting to the People & Development Manager, an excellent opportunity is available for a motivated individual to join a small, close-knit HR team that supports a business that genuinely cares. 

The role entails performing operational HR activities focussed primarily on the employee life cycle including end to end recruitment, creation of employment contracts, onboarding new employees, compliance, offboarding, employee record management and reporting. 

To thrive in this position, you will need strong organisational skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently through multiple systems including our HR information systems (HRIS).

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Head Office in Hawthorn. 
 

Primary areas of responsibility and accountability include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the HR team in executing HR processes across the employee life cycle
  • Lead employee onboarding process using our HRIS
  • Supporting and responding to general HR, WHS and learning and development queries, escalating where required
  • Coordinate WC claims and RTW process
  • Ensure accuracy in maintaining employee records and promptly handle employee changes
  • Support with development and rollout of internal communications, training, policies that align with our brand to elevate performance across the business
  • Maintain HRIS records and generate reports
  • Assist in executing health and safety initiatives and organising relevant training programs
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers to resolve low-level inquiries and issues
  • HR team administration support (HR email inbox, creating learning management content and setting up learning and development portal, updating employee profiles). 
  • Assign and monitor e-learning compliance training as required
  • Prepare and issue employment contracts and new starter documentation, and follow-up with employees and managers
  • Provide system support and troubleshooting for staff and managers

About you:
The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in performing administrative tasks within an HR function
  • 1-2 years of proven success in a HR support role
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment law including the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements. 
  • Knowledge or experience using learning management systems, e-recruit systems and HRIS
  • Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish relationships with a wide range of stakeholder
  • Highly organised with effective time management skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience in similar role, or completion of relevant studies – highly preferred 
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, RTW or equivalent qualification- highly preferred 
  • Proven experience in an OH&S or HR administrative role
