Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day. We are looking for a motivated HR Officer who has a passion for exceptional service delivery to join our HR team for maternity leave coverage. You will be responsible for providing efficient and effective HR services and support to key stakeholders, ranging from IR/ER management, providing support in the management and resolution of workplace and disciplinary issues, conducting investigations and employee management.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Providing efficient and effective HR services and support to key stakeholders.
• Recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
• Coach and mentor leaders to improve the capabilities required to build a strong value driven culture.
• Support the Human Resources Manager in the development and delivery of HR strategy and initiatives such as Talent Acquisition and Retention, Succession Planning and Leadership Development.
• Providing support in the management and resolution of workplace and disciplinary issues.
• Assist in coordinating employee performance reviews and development plans.

About you:

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline with previous HR experience;
• Experienced using MS Office Suite and HR software programs;
• Interpret employment agreements;
• Possess strong logical reasoning skills and good written and verbal communication skill;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills;
• Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders;
• Previous experience in the industry is desired;
• Experience with Microsoft Office and the use of SAP and Workday is desirable;
• Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
