Centacare North Queensland is a non-for-profit organisation that provides counselling, family support, mediation, family dispute resolution, disability services, education and courses, crisis housing and homelessness support, youth services, community engagement and NDIS services.  Centacare services the North Queensland community with offices in Townsville, Bowne, Mt Isa, Cloncurry and Normanton.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

•           Strong recruitment background and knowledge in talent searching, shortlisting and being part of interview panels.

•           Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.

•           Ensuring applicants employed meet the position description requirements.

•           Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.

•           Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, liaising with payroll when necessary.

•           Offer expert advice, direction and consultation on People and Culture matters to drive organisational success.

•           Foster strong relations with key stakeholders throughout the organisation to support a positive work culture.

•           Develop, implement, and monitor People and Culture policies, procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk, relevant to legislative and/or  Fair Work.

•           Support payroll when payroll officer is on leave.

•           Support projects within the People and Culture Team.

Desired Skills and Experience

Your Experience and Skills

•           Qualification in Human Resources.

•           Minimum of 5 years’ experience.

•           Strong negotiation and influencing skills across all organisation levels.

•           Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•           High level of integrity, objectivity and commitment to confidentiality.

•           Prior experience in the community services sector.

•           Must have high level of understanding of the awards under Fair Work and employment contracts.

Desirable

•           High level of experience using Microsoft Suite products ie. Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.

•           Experience with ELMO and/or MY Pay RTA will be highly regarded

•           Canva

•           Must be open to supporting the development of new systems utilising software databases with a result of improvement to workflows and reduction of task time.

•           Experience with ISO9001 and advantage
