Hays Recruitment in Darwin is collaborating with a reputed IT services provider in the Northern Territory to find experienced System Engineers to work for Field Services in Darwin and Katherine.
Your new role
You will be representing our client organisation and providing IT services to their customers. The key tasks and responsibilities will be the same for all three levels, however, the complexity and degree of supervision will depend upon the level of appointment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
For the Job
- Undertake IT servicing duties for clients, including the installation, testing, maintenance and repairing of IT systems and equipment
- Identify and diagnose faults, issues and malfunctioning systems, and remedy as required
- Deliver quality expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and within approved specifications and company standards
- Provide advice and instruction to clients in regard to their IT systems and needs
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation, regulations and company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
- Complete all necessary records associated with the carrying out and completion of work
- Provide professional mentoring and support for junior positions as required
- Where appropriate, assist with and/or provide costs of products and services prior to commencement of a job
- Provide a consistently high standard of customer and quality service
- Undertake other duties to support the business when required

What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must be able to obtain a police/security clearance
- Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in the IT industry
- Good knowledge of IT products, equipment, operational systems and services
- Well-developed computer literacy skills and demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new systems
- Demonstrated ability to follow and interpret written and verbal instructions and procedures, and take direction
- Demonstrated ability to deliver project outcomes in accordance with specifications, budgets, and required timeframes
- Previous experience or demonstrated ability to design, document and quote on effective IT solutions and systems
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Some (Level 1) or significant (Level 2 or 3) knowledge and experience in Linux and other related OS, VoIP, telephony, and integration methods for hosted services
