Ict Project Manager - Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (Rpas)

Xplorate Pacific Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICT Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Perth, Western Australia. As an ICT Project Manager specialising in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing technology projects related to the operation and optimization of our commercial RPAS services.

Reporting Line: Chief Remote Pilot & Head of Operations

About Role:

• Develop comprehensive project plans for the deployment and operation of RPAS in various applications, including intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, emergency response, aerial survey, agricultural services, and mapping operations across Australia.
• Ensure the successful execution of projects, meeting safety, quality, and value delivery standards.
• Coordinate and oversee the execution of projects, including the deployment of RPAS systems for applications such as policing, security, firefighting, disaster response monitoring, emergency management, mapping, land management, and wildlife services.
• Lead and conducting data capture on M300 for VLOS operations 
• Conduct regular inspections, trouble shooting and maintenance tasks on the SDO-50 SwissDrones aircraft and other multi-rotor RPAS models in accordance with the required maintenance schedule and manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensuring all technology are serviceable and ‘mission ready’ as part of a dispatch function including pre and post flight checks.
• Collaborate with Data Intelligence team to design and implement ICT solutions for effective data acquisition during RPAS missions.
• Utilize data analytics tools to process and analyze information gathered from RPAS activities, providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies, sensors, and software into RPAS systems, ensuring they meet RPAS & Data operational requirements.
• Evaluate and select appropriate ICT solutions for data acquisition, processing, and delivery, aligning with industry standards.
• Stay abreast of relevant aviation regulations, ensuring that all RPAS operations adhere to legal and safety standards.
• Work closely with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals for RPAS operations.
• Manage relationships with RPAS manufacturers, sensor providers, and technology vendors to ensure the company operates high-quality and reliable equipment.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

• Engage with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Foster collaborative relationships with partners, suppliers, and government agencies to enhance the overall success of RPAS projects.
• Demonstrating reliability, adaptability, troubleshooting skills and responsiveness to customer needs.
• Data Security and Analysis:
• Oversee the secure and efficient storage, processing, and analysis of data acquired through RPAS operations.
• Implement measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

Training and Development:

• Develop training programs for RPAS operators and other team members to enhance their skills in using and maintaining the technology.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, providing training and guidance to keep the team at the forefront of advancements.

Budget Management:

• Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve project goals.

Risk Management:

• Identify and assess potential risks associated with ICT projects and RPAS operations.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the successful and safe execution of RPAS missions.
• The safe and efficient operation of the RPAS to acquire high-quality data in accordance with current legislation and procedures as set out in the Company Operations Manual.
• Submitting Hazard Reports in Xplorate's Safety Management System

Qualifications:

• Graduate qualifications or experience in RPAS project management and information technology or equivalent environment or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
• Holder of a current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) endorsement up to 25kgs weight class;
• Considerable experience in drone data capture with RPAS M300 
• Knowledge of RPAS aviation maintenance practices capable fixed wing, multi-rotor, and rotary wing RPAS up to 150kg. (advantageous) 
• Proven experience as an ICT Project Manager or similar position with a focus on aviation technology, RPAS, or similar industries.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations, especially those related to RPAS operations.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and budget management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of ICT solutions, data acquisition systems, and sensors used in RPAS operations.
