The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Nurse leader to join the team at Northern Health.
Northern Health Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is an 18-bed unit with the capacity to manage up to 10 ICU equivalent medical-surgical patients. With approx. 1500 admission annually, our ICU Nurse Unit Manager, is pivotal in supporting and provide clinical, operational, and strategic leadership to a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, inclusive of nursing, allied health and specialist Intensivists.
Our ICU fosters an exceptional culture that is friendly, collaborative across disciplines, and supportive of staff, patients and visitors. We focus on delivering exceptional, high-quality care to all patients and their kin.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current registration as Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Postgraduate qualifications in Intensive Care Nursing, or similar
- Postgraduate qualifications in Health Services Management or Leadership, or a willingness to undertake same.
- A minimum of 3 years clinical leadership or previous NUM experience in addition to 5 years clinical experience, preferably within an Intensive Care.
- Prior leadership, operational management, or project management experience
- Proven leader that engages staff in the provision of exceptional care
- Demonstrates commitment to high quality, safe and person-centred patient care.
- Ability to work in partnership and collaboration with direct reports as well as key stakeholders including staff within the Northern Hospital Emergency Department
