The Role

As an APS 6 Integrated Logistics Support Manager, working in Explosive Materiel Branch in the Department of Defence, you will be working with some of the most exciting and complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force.

  • Exercise sound initiative and judgment in applying appropriate practices and procedures in accordance with governance structures, policies and procedures; 
  • Prepare, provide input and present relevant briefs and reports to stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are an integral aspect of this role. 

You must be able to network/communicate at all levels including engaging with outside organisations to achieve objectives.

There may be some domestic business travel associated with this position.  

Note: This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

About our Team

Land Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office is an integral part of Explosive Materiel Branch that is part of the new Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance Systems Division.

Our team is made up of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). 

We are primarily located in Penrith and Canberra and our focus is to acquire, sustain and dispose of all guided and non-guided explosive ordnance to support the Australian Defence Force. 

Explosive Materiel Branch comprises approximately 560 dedicated employees and is dedicated to providing our staff with a manageable work-life balance, and we support flexible working arrangements.
