Cardin College is a dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment. As we continue to champion Inclusive Education, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Inclusive Education Assistant to join our team.
About You
The successful applicant will:
- Manage care plan/s daily for students as required, including continence care plan, where applicable.
- Assist in student learning, where some discretion and judgement is involved, including evaluation and assessment, under the supervision of a teacher, of the learning needs of student.
- Carry out a wide variety of tasks associated with classroom learning experiences (e.g. assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs)
- Participate in the evaluation of programs and student involvement.
- Provide yard duty support to teachers in accordance with school procedures.
- Assist with identifying student learning/behavior problems.
- Provide written submissions and reports as required.
- In consultation with teachers and other staff, select reference materials and other educational tools.

Cardijn College Galilee at Aldinga offers Reception to Year 9 in a context where every student experiences a unique sense of belonging in a caring and ecologically aware environment.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Active support for the Catholic ethos and the College Mission and Values.
- Appropriate training/experience and/or qualifications such as a Certificate III or higher in Education Support or similar that is relevant to the role.
- An understanding and familiarity with the Disability Standards for Education (2005) developed under the Disability Discrimination Act (1992).
- A demonstrated capacity to work with students with intellectual disabilities and /or additional learning needs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students who work from Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- An ability to be flexible and adaptable to support the needs of a wide range of students and teacher to include Years 7-12 with a range of subjects, within the Marist and Lavalla Centre’s and within mainstream classes.
- An ability to work with students with intellectual disabilities and/or additional learning difficulties while displaying sensitivity, empathy and compassion.
- An ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with other members of the College staff.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in relation to staff, students and families of the college.
Specific Requirements
- Working With Children Check and Catholic Police Clearance to work in Catholic Education SA.
- Current valid Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate.
- Approved Mandatory Notification training.
- First Aid Certificate - education setting.
