About the roleThe purpose of this role is to lead the development and implementation of the Townsville Hospital and Health Services First Nations Health Equity Strategy, under the direction of the Executive Director Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and to achieve health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Townsville Hospital and Health Service Region. The Indigenous Health Principal Project Officer will oversee the scoping, planning and implementation of the Health Equity Implementation Plan for Townsville Hospital and Health Service, to ensure the provision of high quality consumer care and achievement of agreed key performance indicators and legislative requirements, translating strategic direction into operational deliverables.
