About the role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to join our team as part of our continued growth as a market leader.
This exciting opportunity is based in our primary location & factory in Newcastle NSW.
In this role, you will be working closely with all internal departments while utilising your experience to bring project requirements into a manufacturable reality within a clean and modern factory environment.
You will be joining a design team of other likeminded and dedicated professionals within the operations division of the group.
The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience within the Signage and/or Retail Design industries, along with degree qualification in Industrial Design, Design Engineering, or Mechanical/Civil Engineering. You should have a strong portfolio of past projects that demonstrate your focus on solutions, creativity, attention to detail, and ability to deliver results.
Responsibilities
- Interpret, interrogate and translate tender requirements into manufacture-ready documentation.
- Ability to conceptualise and creatively think.
- Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends and materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine design requirements.
- Ability to confidently present design proposals to clients.
- Conduct all diligence required for successful outcomes within our manufacturing ecosystem
- Continuously striving for improvement, collaboration and best practice.
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving and solutions orientation.
- Degree qualification in Industrial Design, Design Engineering, or Mechanical/Civil Engineering
- Comprehensive portfolio of works, highlighting evidence of experience, outcomes and commercial statistics.
- High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Suite, SolidWorks and Adobe Creative Cloud are highly regarded)
- Extensive Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials (CNC Routing, Metal Fabrication, 2K Spray, Print, LED and general fabrication are highest regarded)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with a factory/manufacturing environment
- High proficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- A passion for design and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
