As Information Officer you will be part of a dynamic information management team which is responsible for championing efficient and effective records and information management practices, supporting program and service delivery, informed decision making capability and protection of the department’s corporate memory.
The Information, ICT Governance and Spatial unit (IIG&S) is located within ITS and provides advice, guidance and support across a range of information management (IM) and recordkeeping services, ICT Governance assurance and reporting, ICT risks management, cyber security strategy and governance and Right to Information (RTI) services across DSDI.
Your contribution
» Supporting the Manager of Information, ICT Governance and Risk (IIG&R) in proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the way the department manages and secures its information.
» Contributing to ongoing improvements in the lifecycle management of work-related information, data, and records through creation, use, and retention/disposal stages by:
» Engaging with clients to uplift recordkeeping and information management knowledge and maturity, while seeking clarification from management.
» Liaising with clients to understand their information and record keeping issues, needs and business processes and provide best practice advice.
» Responding to client requests/enquiries relating to information, records management, or the use of the department's eDRMS in a timely manner.
» Contributing to the development, review and monitoring of information and recordkeeping management procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles.
» Assisting with the review, development, co-ordination and delivery of training and awareness modules, one-on-one and task-based information sessions as they relate to information management, recordkeeping, and RTI.
» Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information while performing this role and report any breaches.
» Utilising effective self-management skills, including time management, identification, and prioritisation of critical tasks, and seeking guidance when required.
» Contributing to work activities and work packages across IIG&R and more broadly across ITS as required to help reach deadlines, agreed outcomes and deliverables.
» Perform other IIG&R activities as directed by the IIG&R Manager.
