About the Role
As an Injury Management Specialist, your role will see you providing assistance to staff and leaders in handling injuries and workers' compensation claims. Your role will be to ensure proactive support for employees' injury recovery and manage claims in compliance with legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide early intervention support and management to injured employees, including care calls, early intervention program referrals, and preparation of return-to-work plans.
- Serve as RTW Coordinator, managing a portfolio of injury cases and collaborating with workers, practitioners, and leaders to facilitate recovery and return-to-work planning, including on-site visits and case conferences.
- Manage submission of workers' compensation claims across NSW and QLD.
- Manage weekly workers' compensation payments in scheme states, ensuring compliance with legislation and agreements, and provide oversight to third-party administrators for self-insurance, including payment reconciliation and auditing.
- Undertake the role of reconsideration officer and claims delegate for NSW self-insurance.
- Support senior leaders and managers with expert guidance on workplace Injury Management and workers' compensation, in accordance to legislative requirements.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (or related) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in an WHS and Injury Management/Rehabilitation role in NSW/QLD a with a proven track record in delivering effective workplace injury performance results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and create positive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- High level planning, time management and prioritising skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant WHS and workers' compensation legislation.
- Demonstrated capability in coaching leaders and frontline workers to build knowledge and understanding of relevant health, safety and wellbeing requirements.
- Willingness to travel as required for operational needs and team development.
- NSW self-insurance experience preferred.
