An expert practitioner who is responsible for translating and adapting health and safety best practice into an end-to-end coordination of return to work practices which meet organisation's needs and create meaningful employment options in a safe and timely manner.Coordinate the rehabilitation of injured employees following an injury with support and guidance from the Senior Rehabilitation Adviser, including development and updating of return to work/rehabilitation programs, and maintaining accurate case notes.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the business on all workers' compensation and Injury Management including early intervention and stay at work initiatives.
- Provide education to management and staff to ensure they understand their rights and responsibilities in relation to workers' compensation and Injury Management.
- Engage in workplace meetings, case conferences and claims reviews.
- Measure performance, trends and report on all workers' compensation and Injury Management matters including external providers.
- Maintain data information in the Injury Management system/database.
- Coordinate the implementation of best practice workers' compensation and Injury Management strategies, initiatives and systems to continually improve current and future performance.
- Monitor recovery of injured employees, seeking further information or consultation where required to improve outcomes for the employee.
- Maintain a customer service focus at all times to ensure employees feel supported and have information to guide their decision making.
- Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with injured employees, local managers, medical practitioners and compensation management specialists to develop, implement and manage an effective Return to Work (RTW) system.
- Liaises with external stakeholders to maintain effective working relationships and ensure proactive and strategic claims management activities are provided on a regular, timely basis.
- Ensures adequate arrangements are in place internally and externally to the workplace in support of the recovery and total wellbeing of injured employees, including referrals to our additional support services.
- Creates and sustains safe environment and behaviour practices.
- Ensures compliance, is aware of safety trends and acts as a strong safety role model.
- Support a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture by applying practices that support workforce and patient safety, health and wellbeing and model ethical and positive workplace behaviour consistent with AV values.
- Acts as a role model and leader for health and safety awareness and accountability, facilitating a safety culture.
- Works collaboratively with People & Culture Specialists to assist with various projects.
- Foster constructive and effective working relationships that creates a culture of shared learning and accountability.
