We are actively recruiting an Instrumentation and Controls Lead to The role will be accountable for regular face-to-face liaison with clients, and to provide leadership for the successful execution of capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and Review I & C engineering documentation including:
- Control Architecture / Communication Network drawings
- LOOP drawings / IO schematics / IO lists
- Shut down keys
- Control narratives
- Logic Diagrams
- P&ID development
- Instrument Datasheets
- Design and Procure control system packages as well as communications including PLC, DCS, RTU, SCADA, Fibre Optics, etc.
- Spec and purchase field instruments including electronic and pneumatic transmitters, switches, meter-runs, analyzers, and valves.
- Knowledge and experience applying codes and standards globally.
- Knowledge of various electrical components including MCCs, equipment panels and motors.
- Review engineering and construction work packages for content accuracy and quality standards.
- Prepare engineering documents as per company and client standards.
- Provide and demonstrate leadership in accordance with Environment Health and Safety program to establishing a strong safety culture within the organization and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data, or participate in commissioning activities.
- Proven expertise in Oil & Gas technologies such as SAGD, conventional oil production and gas processing facilities is a definite asset.
- Proven track record in design, configuration, integration, and implementation of process control solutions.
- Direct and/or participate in vendor drawings reviews to ensure design accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Direct and/or participate in inspections/testing of instrumentation systems/ vendor packages. Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials, and the economics involved. Assist in selection of discipline personnel assigned to projects through interviewing.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Monitor/supervise the work of junior executors and assist with mentorship and training.
- Interface with the other engineering disciplines to ensure a coordinated design and that project engineering deliverables are completed.
- Ability to work independently and execute small to medium size projects.
- Experience in reviewing proposals to assist business development in the I&C discipline and create man hour estimates.
- Excellent knowledge of various software including but not limited to:
- Microsoft 365
- Blue Beam Studio
- Smart Plant
- A variety of vendor sizing software
Education And Qualifications
- Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering Degree
- Registered with Professional Engineers Australia, MIEAust required.
- Registered with Professional Engineers Queensland Australia, RPEQ preferred.
- Minimum 12 + years oil and gas experience with EPCM background.
- Experience in Oil & Gas facility projects including: heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities.
