About the role:
We are looking for eager individuals that are enthusiastic to learn, available for full or part-time hours with an interest in health care support work to become an Instrument Technician within the Central Sterilising Services Department. As an Instrument Technician you will be responsible for the collection, cleaning, packaging, tracking and sterilisation of re-usable medical equipment that is required to be sterile for patient care within the Theatre complex and other hospital areas. In this role you will work as part of a team and can expect full support and training.This is your opportunity to join an expanding team and be part of an hospital environment providing an essential service to our patients.Certificate in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians (or equivalent) not essential as training will be provided.
We require:
- Cert III or IV in Sterilisation Services
- Experience working as an Instrument Technician with 1 or more year experience
- Be able to work in all areas of the CSSD Department with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, without supervision.
- Reprocessing of endoscopes using Automated Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors (AFERs).
- Knowledge of checking in and out Loan Kit equipment.
- Have a good knowledge of the updated Sterilising Standard AS 5369:2024 and GENCA guidelines.
