Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
The role:
Our growing team is seeking an Insurance Manager to lead the delivery of the Group's insurance programme as well as evaluating the extent, value and quality of risk transfer as a solution to key risks to which the business is exposed. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be the primary contact for the Group's insurance programmes and work closely with business, the Snowy 2.0 project team and delivery partner stakeholders to ensure the programmes remain adequate to mitigate exposures.
Further responsibilities in this role will also include driving the appropriate governance and reporting of the insurance programmes, budget, claims and ongoing insurance projects, managing renewal processes and optimising the structure of the insurance programmes to provide best value for money.
We're looking for someone with:
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree
- 5-7+ years experience leading an in-house insurance function for large scale companies, preferably including management of insurance programs related to significant construction projects.
- Demonstrable experience in the placement and management of sophisticated global insurance programmes across multiple insurance classes.
- Project management, particularly in the context of arranging new/enhanced cover; procurement of services from brokers and direct insurers; and renewal.
- Demonstrable in-depth technical knowledge of commercial insurance policy terms and conditions
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills; ability to work with multiple stakeholders and time critical environments
- Ability to simplify complex matters and communicate effectively way with attention to detail
