About the position
ARAS is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Intake Officer in the Aged Care sector ( part-time).
The Intake Officer is a key frontline person managing in-bound consumer and stakeholder calls on behalf of ARAS. You are required to gather all relevant information required for the provision of information and the triage of calls, working as part of a team providing information and assistance to consumers and/or their representatives to enable them to better understand and exercise their rights. And, where appropriate the Intake Officer refers out-of-scope matters to alternative service providers according to their identified need.
Ideally successful candidates will have an interest and experience in Aged Care, aged rights, human services, and or social justice with exceptional listening skills to enable key messages and concerns to be quickly identified.
About the Organisation
ARAS is the South Australian component of the National Aged Care Advocacy Program and is funded by the Australian Department of Health and provides advocacy and related services across South Australia.

Specific employment requirements
- A bachelor degree qualification or study in a humanitarian/ social science discipline, or similar.
- National Police Clearance and working with Vulnerable Persons clearance (less than 12 months old).
- Up to date COVID-19 vaccination and current season Influenza vaccination is mandatory.
- Excellent telephone manner with experience in managing and triage of in-bound calls.
