Intermediate Accountant
Global Accounting is a now a combination of several regional Accounting Firms, all of which are located in the Dubbo Central West NSW region.

The firm has grown consecutively over the past 20 years with our main office in Dubbo, we travel as required for work in major cities for work or other engagements.
The majority of the firm's client base are individuals, farming families, small to medium business and not for profit entities, including: Indigenous corporations, registered clubs and local community organisations.

The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant, in Tax, to join our growing team.
You wish to broaden your experience, in Public Practice and you have greater than 2 years Australian Public Practice experience already, predominately in Australian taxation compliance.
If you are an Intermediate Accountant, you will be guided to assist us in providing a range of services to a broad range of industries including pastoral, retail, construction, engineering and medical. You will gain valuable skills across small to medium enterprises. Together with your studies towards your full accounting qualifications.
Ideally, it is anticipated that you have completed your CAANZ, CPA or IPA designation, or you are working towards this. You will be responsible for production of financial accounts and reporting to a partner as well as supervising junior Accounting Staff, in time. With further management progression available, to a senior Accounting role.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Intermediate Accountant:
- Preparation of financial statements and Australian Income tax returns for individuals and related companies, trusts, partnerships
- Budgeting and forecasting skills
- Completion of accounts to Trial Balance
- Putting forward Financial Statement Data for Review and then compilation.
- Assisting with maintaining entities including companies, trusts & super funds.
- Preparation of BAS/IAS.
- Assisting in Invoicing and Accounts Receivable
- Annual GST Reconciliation
- Tax planning skills
- Training junior staff members, as required
- Assisting with administration when necessary
- Accountants production, assist as required & report to the partners.
- Be responsible for a segment of clientele of the business.
- Continue to work with the Accounting institutes to continue professional development, synthesise then pass insights to relevant staff via conducting regular training sessions.
- Development of internal procedures as required and strengthening systems of internal accounting controls.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary education
- Minimumtwo, ideally three years’ experience in Australian Public Accounting Practice, or greater, are essential.
- Studying towards or have achieved a CAANZ qualification or CPA, IPA.
- Experience MYOB AE or AO software, is essential so that you can start work immediately, is key.
- Windows Excel, Windows Word and Database experience is beneficial.
- Cash Book Experience in using MYOB Essentials or Account Right, XO, Xero, QuickBooks, Phoenix or other Farming Cashbook, is well received.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are essential.
- Must have passed relevant Law subjects applicable to Accounting Practice with respect to Corporations Law and Taxation.
