ABOUT THE ROLE
This position has been created as part of the Communications Team and will report to the Manager of Strategic Communications and Marketing. The role is being created to sit alongside an External Communications Lead.
The primary focus of this role will be on working alongside internal teams and stakeholders across the organisation to find and promote stories across several key communication deliverables as outlined in the below role specific key responsibilities.
The Communications team is at a pivotal point at the time of advertising this position. It has been 2 years since the team was created, and it has taken shape with a broad remit over that time with the expectation to produce a high standard of work. There are currently significant demands on the team, given the growing nature of Wungening, with new programs and services coming on board in the next 12 months.
This role would ideally suit an active listener who is good at building and maintaining relationships, and who is able to work autonomously and to a deadline with strong writing skills. This role manages a 0.2 FTE role.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in copy writing for publication
- Experience in projects, events, or community services
- Able to work independently and autonomously to meet deadline
- Able to be flexible in managing workload
- A sound understanding of policy processes
Desirable
- Qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or similar field
- Experience in using Mailchimp
- Experience in working alongside Aboriginal People
