Minderoo's Advocacy & Engagement Enabler aims to strategically support, defend or argue for our causes and issues in order to influence decisions with political, community, economic and social institutions. The Function advocates for systems change, shifting community and stakeholder attitudes and behaviours and pursues critical policy reforms. Its approach is to focus on capacity build, convening like-minded people and organisations, and sharing knowledge, skills and resources for impact.
The Advocacy & Engagement Enabler's work is to primarily:
- Coordinate the Foundation's deep expertise in advocacy strategies and tactics
- Understand and have a strong interest in the political environment and global trends
- Understanding and being attuned to community and stakeholder sentiment and how people prefer to be engaged, receive and act on information and what they consider to be trusted sources
- Raise awareness of and attention on important issues
- Develop policy solutions and connect those policies to people and stakeholders
- Provide clear and concise advice on issues and risks
- Grow the advocacy capability and impact of the Foundation and our partners

About the Opportunity
Minderoo Foundation currently has a rare opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager to play an integral role connecting and engaging it's employees across the world.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Campaigns, your day to day will include:
- Oversight of the creation and execution of the internal communication strategy.
- Creating content for the Internal Communications channels, and global work family that is value and brand aligned, and ensures employees feel connected to our offices.
- Management and delivery of internal events, workshops and activities across Minderoo.
- Internal communications support for crisis communications and major announcements.
- Overseeing the development of the weekly internal newsletter and monthly external newsletter for Portfolio Companies.
- Supporting the Co-Chair and Chairman, CEO's Office and executive leadership team with internal announcements and communications.
- Building strong relationships with teams and internal stakeholders, and empowering the learning and development of the Internal Communications Coordinator.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience in Internal Communications, with an understanding of the complexity and challenges associated with this area of work. You will have exemplary written and verbal communication as well as flair for writing and creating value-aligned content.
In addition you will be:
- A team player who is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and has a natural ability to bring people together and inspire.
- A compelling storyteller who can think on their feet and translate complex terminology into simple English.
- Committed to best practice people leadership with proven ability to delegate with clear and explicit intent, holding others accountable and escalating when barriers arise.
- A collaborator who values open communication and maintains the team's focus on results, integrity and impact.
- An experienced negotiator and influencer, with a natural ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, understand their communication needs, build relationships and drive impact.
- Proficient in relevant communications software including MS Office Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Canva and EDM systems.
