Job Title: Internal Communications Manager, Group Functions

Location: Chiswick, London or Milton Keynes - Hybrid working averaging 1 - 2 days in the office per week.

About the role:

Due to growth, we are currently hiring for the new position of Internal Communications Manager for our Group Functions.

Within this role you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the achievement of our People, Finance, IT, and Commercial strategies and goals. Your focus will be on fostering inclusive communication activities that inform, inspire, and engage our colleagues worldwide.

This is a brand-new role which provides an exciting opportunity to leverage your experience and expertise to craft and execute creative, strategic communications that bring BSI's story to life, foster employee engagement, and set the direction for our future. Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, you'll be an integral part of our Group Internal Communications Team, responsible for developing multi-channel campaigns and content that authentically represent our narrative, brand, culture, and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to offer best practice communications expertise, providing strategic communications guidance and feedback.

  • Design and execute strategic communications and engagement plans and campaigns that align with Group Functions objectives, enhance employee engagement, articulate BSI's story, and reflect our brand identity.

  • Monitor and assess communication initiatives and audience insights to drive continuous improvement strategies.

  • Ensure coherence and consistency of messaging by aligning activities across all BSI communications.

  • Support the management and development of employee communication channels.

  • Understand our diverse audiences and determine optimal communication strategies to reach them effectively.

  • Create, write, and produce customized and compelling Internal Communications content, including videos, podcasts, copy, etc.

  • Provide training to stakeholders to enable them to proficiently manage local Internal Communications and events.

  • Oversee and assist in the coordination of both face-to-face and virtual events.

To be successful in the role, you will have;

  • Extensive experience working in Internal Communications.

  • Experience of business partnering with key stakeholders/COEs.

  • Institute of Internal Communications or Chartered Institute of Public Relations or a relevant degree (English Literature, Journalism, Media).

  • Demonstrable experience of scoping, managing, and delivering successful communications projects and campaigns.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Expert user of O365 suite of tools (including SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams), Microsoft Viva (including Viva Engage and Viva Insights).

  • Able to work effectively as part of a wider comms team but also self-sufficient and able to work independently.
