Internal Communications Officer

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Officer to join the Culture, Engagement, and Capability team at City of Moreton Bay. We’re the team that engages with and empowers our people to live our organisational values every day - so it should come as no surprise that we practice what we preach!  You’ll work flexible hours over a nine-day fortnight; from our Strathpine office 3 days/ week and the option to work from home the others should you wish.

This is a diverse communications role where you’ll get to sink your teeth into a range of projects and activities, connect with and engage a range of specialists across Council, and help celebrate the incredible work our team members are delivering for our communities.

No two days will be the same, but will include:

• Developing a regular newsletter that connects, inspires and informs over 2,000 team members. You’ll source content, write engaging copy, input it into our internal content marketing system. You will work with stakeholders to ensure the information is accurate before it is distributed.
• Helping to create messages from our senior leaders to team members - including email content, presentations, video scripts and more.
• Designing collateral (such as posters, screen savers, graphics) for exciting campaigns that will be distributed through internal channels to reach our diverse audiences using the Adobe creative suite and/or Canva.  
• Drafting and implementing communication plans that ensure our channels are being used to get the right message to the right audience.

Experience or willingness to develop your skills in shooting and editing engaging video content is highly desired.

The Details

• Maximum Term Full Time
• This opportunity is relating to a Parental Leave relief role and it is anticipated appointment will be until April 2025.
• $76,873 - $83,879pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
  Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 3-4 of EBA5
  The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
• 9 day fortnight
• 72.5 hour fortnight
• Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days (1 to 2 days/ week).
• Location: Strathpine

About you

You have a way with words, and an eye for design - you know how to make content sound and look good!

You have a high attention to detail, but that doesn’t stop you from being creative and thinking outside of the box.

You are organised and meet deadlines but always leave a bit of wriggle room to complete tasks that come up at short notice.

You’re a natural at collaborating and building relationships with stakeholders or will be willing to develop in this area.

Most of all, you’re passionate about what you do because you know how powerful an engaging communications campaign can be!
