Purpose of the Role
The Internal Communications & Channel Consultant role will play a critical role in managing our corporate communication channels, develop relevant, timely and engaging content and provide an exceptional level of communications support and solutions to the business.
This role is responsible for researching and developing engaging and timely content for varied audiences in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing our digital and traditional internal channels and LinkedIn, providing advice and support on best practice communications, creating and assisting with internal communication campaigns, and support in organising events.
Position Accountabilities
- Create and manage content for corporate communication channels, such as our intranet (HQ), LinkedIn, digital screens and Slack corporate channels.
- Manage the schedule and timing for all internal channels and advise others of the best channel to use for communication with key stakeholders.
- Develop and plan eye-catching and relevant news articles and create visual content for corporate communication channels – actively seeking new stories and content from across the business weekly.
- Contribute to the design, development and implementation of effective and impactful Internal Communications plans at a whole of business and divisional level.
- Support the team in the coordination of a range of events including CEO Town Halls, leadership forums and social activities.
- Actively coordinate and analyse reporting and evaluation of communication activities as part of campaigns and activities.
- Be a trusted resource by building and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Partner with teams across the business, providing consultative communications support to achieve maximum value and impact while working effectively with external stakeholders such as suppliers and business partners.
- Actively engage in a team environment within the office and virtually, support team members and be a part of a positive culture.
- Take all reasonable directions from leaders to comply with the organisation’s workplace health & safety (WHS) protocols. WHS is everyone’s responsibility.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, media with minimum three years’ experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to write for various genres, audiences and publication types is a must with a focus on creating eye-catching content delivered to appropriate channel, error free, within tight deadlines and timeframes
- Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across varying levels and roles.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work autonomously, prioritise and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and respect for confidentiality.
- Exceptional and proven stakeholder engagement and partnering skills at all levels of the business.
- Highly developed IT skills including Google Suite, LinkedIn, Campaign Monitor, Slack, and video and image editing skills are preferable.
- Ability to demonstrate self-motivation, a can-do attitude, and be a strong team player with strong interpersonal skills.
