We need someone who has the skills and experience to jump straight in and isn’t afraid of rolling up their sleeves to get the job done. You will need to be able to think systematically and be confident in presenting and discussing strategy at a board level, but equally comfortable in briefing and managing our IT support vendors. We need your help to continue to grow and support the smooth operations of our IT services. To be succesfull in this role the key things are that you have a wide range of experience in IT management and are able to balance the existing IT needs of the business, whilst also being forward focused and analysing and recommending changes in technology to help move our business forward.
Position Overview: As the IT Manager you will play a key role responsible for overseeing and managing the company's information technology projects and systems. This position involves a wide range of tasks from technical support, software and hardware management, security oversight, vendor management, IT budgeting, and strategic IT planning. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services and supporting the company's objectives through effective technology solutions
Core work of the role:
- IT Strategy and Execution
- Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures to support the organization's operational and compliance requirements.
- Project Management: Lead and execute IT projects, ensuring they align with business goals and are delivered on time.
- Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously drive efficiencies across the business.
- Budget Management: Manage the IT budget effectively, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure optimal utilization to achieve maximum ROI.
- System Integration: Design and manage system integrations to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
- Management of IT Systems
- User Management: Manage user accounts and software licensing, ensuring efficient license allocation and compliance.
- IT Security: Oversee IT security, including monitoring security reports, educating staff on security practices, and managing security solutions and policies.
- Hardware Management: Manage and support company hardware and software, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Management of all IT Systems: The effective management of all IT systems, including but not limited to Microsoft365, aXcelerate, Canvas and CloudAssess.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Team Management: Including directing IT staff, managing workloads across IT contractors and personal development.
- Vendor management: Negotiation, relationship management, and issue resolution.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or relevant experience
- Professional certifications in IT would be advantageous
- 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a similar industry
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software licensing, and security practices.
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience in Education, Technology, and Advisory Industries preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, particularly in motivating and guiding a team when required.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- You are a forward thinker, continually scanning for new technology that will help move the business forward.
