Employment Status: Permanent, full time
Days & Hours of Work: Monday - Friday totalling 38hrs per week
Competitive Salary: Band 5 - $78,462.47 to $91,547.11 (dependent on experience) p.a. + 11% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

Reporting to the Team Leader of the Support desk working within the IT support Team, the key purpose of the IT Support officer is to provide efficient, timely, accurate and reliable IT support to the customers of Council’s IT department while also assisting these customers to utilise IT to their best advantage and contributing to the development and implementation of measures to improve and enhance IT support services.

You will be responsible for:

  • Excellent Customer Service is delivered to ensure a great customer experience for the Organisation
  • Technology, systems and solutions are provided and maintained within IT standards and practices
  • Install, maintain, update and support all council desktop applications, systems and peripherals
  • Participate as a member of the IT Support team in department Projects and Initiatives
  • Service Desk calls are classified, responded to and resolved in a timely, accurate and effective manner
  • Liaising with Contractors, Consultants, Vendors and service providers on matters relating to internal IT support
  • Purchasing of peripherals and monitoring stock levels

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

• Post-secondary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline, may include any of the following;
• Computer Science (diploma or equivalent)
• Information Technology (diploma or equivalent)
• Relevant industry-based training
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field
• A solid understanding of the role of the Help Desk and 1st & 2nd Level support
• Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Office 365 in an enterprise environment
• Experience administering Active Directory/Azure Entra ID and Intune

Desirable:

• ITIL qualifications
• Experience in Local Government
• Microsoft Exchange 2019 (or above) administration experience
• Enterprise Telephony system (PBX) support experience
• Desktop application packaging experience. (Intune)
• Experience supporting mobile devices using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution (Airwatch)

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
