About the roleAn excellent opportunity exists for someone to join our IT team on a full-time, permanent basis. We are looking for someone who has a customer service mindset to provide Level 1 support to a variety of end users at the College for software and hardware matters.
This is a role with broad scope where you won't be pigeonholed into dealing with the same problems day in day out. You will be exposed to a broad range of software and hardware matters that will enhance your professional development.
You will be regularly supporting end users with varying skill levels, so we are looking for someone who is patient and has experience providing excellent customer service.
In addition to providing support, you will be actively involved in maintenance and development of hardware and application solutions, and you will gain exposure to IT projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the help desk queue and escalating help desk calls to ensure compliance with agreed SLAs.
- Provisioning equipment for staff and students including laptops, tablets and mobiles devices.
- Assisting with management of printers and photocopiers including the replacement of toner and drum cartridges.
- Providing training to staff and students in relation to hardware, software and services provided by the IT department.
- Ensuring all data backups are scheduled, functioning and are stored according to procedures and guidelines.
- Liaising with ICT suppliers to attain quotes, place orders and receive goods.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Sound knowledge of hardware including peripherals such as printers, scanners and modems.
- The ability to trouble shoot, diagnose and repair most hardware faults.
- Knowledge of Windows Server
- Ability to install and configure most software available for workstations or servers.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair most software problems.
- Ability to relate well to all levels of customers from students to staff with a professional phone manner.
- Work effectively as part of a team, in particular the sharing of duties and information.
- Experience with The Alpha School System (TASS) would be advantageous.
- Current Blue Card.
