Our Medical Workforce Unit is currently looking for a JMO Unit Manager to join our Medical Workforce Unit at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a leader of our JMO Unit, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our medical workforce. What you'll be doing
This position provides leadership of the JMO Unit at Northern Beaches Hospital. The JMO Unit Manager will provide support to NSW Health employed JMOs as per HETI framework and College training accreditation requirements. They will also provide support to the Healthscope employed JMOs and ensure that JMO wellbeing is paramount for all of our junior doctors!
The major functions and responsibilities of this role include:
- Operational management and allocation of junior medical staff across clinical services to ensure provision of high quality patient care
- Cost effective, fair and equitable rostering for all Junior Medical Workforce in compliance with awards (public and private) and industrial instruments, including best rostering practices
- Management of the JMO recruitment and onboarding processes ensuring compliance with MOH and NBH policies and procedures and orientation for all junior medical officers
- Oversight of rostering, rotational allocations and training requirements for all JMOs at Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH)
- Oversight of roster sign offs and payment processing for NBH JMOs
- Participate in and assist with arranging all aspects of inspections by HETI and various Specialty Colleges
- Work with NSLHD and other LHD's in regard to trainee rotations and recruitment
Your Capabilities
This position is for someone who is highly motivated and experienced, can work independently with limited direction and manage a demanding workload.
- Demonstrated experience as a JMO Manager or Medical Administration Manager in the public or private sector;
- Ability to prioritise and function in a busy work environment to meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of computer applications including but not limited to Kronos, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and the Internet/Intranet;
- Ability to liaise with and develop positive working relationships with relevant authorities, peak bodies, LHDs and VMOs/Staff Specialists of the NBH for the best outcome for training and workforce of JMOs and Registrars;
- Understanding of the applicable Industrial Instruments including the NSW JMO Award and the Modern Practitioner's Award.
- Understanding of medical terminology;
- Understanding of training requirements for junior doctors.
