About the role:
The Junior Accountant will provide executive, administrative and accounting support to the finance team. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the accounts for various companies within the group.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial reports, statements, and general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate and timely financial data entry.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of financial statements, tax returns, and other financial reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Assist with preparation and reconciliation of equipment sales.
- General bookkeeping support for the Jamieson Group of Companies including invoicing and intercompany loans.
- Provide administrative support to the Financial Controller
To be considered for this position you must possess the following key attributes:
- Thorough working knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting
- Excellent liaison skills both on the telephone and in person
- Ability to establish rapport and confidence with internal and external clients
- Demonstrate initiative and work with minimal supervision
- Identify and analyze problems, exercise sound judgment, develop and implement solutions
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to accurately assess and input data
- Experience using SAP is highly preferable
