Junior Accountant

HAYS Melbourne is seeking a Junior Accountant who is working towards a CPA qualification! Your new company Your new organisation is a partial-government-funded education provider located in the Eastern suburb. Your new role As a Junior Accountant, you will be reporting directly to the Senior Accountant and working within a large team. See your duties below:
Maintain and ensure accuracy of general ledger, including financial transaction processing, journal adjustments, period-end accruals
Manage bank accounts, inter-entity loan accounts, clearing accounts and trust accounts
Assist in overseeing and investing funds in alignment with treasury guidelines
Maintain fixed asset register
Monitor and record operating and capital expenditure
Prepare tax return and assist with audit compliance
What you'll need to succeed
CA/CPA accreditation or be working towards completion
Bachelor degree or postgraduate qualification in commerce and/or accounting
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
