This is a unique opportunity to join our AUS-NZ Corporate Head Office based in South Brisbane as a Junior Assistant Accountant.
Jonas Software is a wholly owned subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., which is one the largest software companies listed on the Toronto exchange (CSU.TO).
What you’ll be doing
- Complete customer invoicing tasks in line with agreed timeframes
- Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of invoicing requirements for different portfolio companies and groups of customers
- Liaise with account collections and provide account collection support as and when required
- Respond in a timely manner to queries raised both by internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with month end journals including review of allocations in the general ledger accounts and posting of relevant accruals, prepayments, and inventory adjustments as required.
- Maintain and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with the delivery of month end reporting pack within reporting timelines
- Assist with the preparation of audit workpapers and reconciliations for the group’s internal and external audit requirements
- Assist with preparation of ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required
- General administrative tasks relating to the accounting function including BAS/GST reporting
- Work closely with Senior Analysts to ensure all financial accounting principles, procedures and practices in the group are in line with legal and corporate requirements.
Your Background and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 1-2 years’ experience in a graduate accountant or finance assistant position
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with ability to set priorities, adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal savviness skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Excellent technical learning, analytical and problem solving skills
- Advanced skills in MS Office Excel
- Experience with Great Plains and SAP BPC reporting an asset
