My client is a globally renowned chemical and specialist materials manufacturing business, with numerous household brands within its product range.We are urgently seeking applications for a Junior Buyer to be based on one of my client's manufacturing sites in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.The roleYou will be reporting the Plant Director with a dotted line to the Deputy Procurement Director and support with the below key accountabilities:Source, negotiate and issue Purchase Orders to support Site Opex and Capex
Ensure compliance with Procurement processes, be ambassador at plant level of procurement excellence
Develop savings ideas, automation at plant and make recommendations for approval
Contract management, mainly service maintenance contracts.
Build strong relationships with site stakeholders, and external vendors as required.
Manage FRQ process as required within the assigned scope.About youBachelor's degree
Minimum 2 years' experience in procurement/ buyer role, within a manufacturing environment or engineering company in petro-chemical or pharmaceutical industry, preferably based at a production site
Ability to work in a multi-national environment.
Highly organised and able to handle pressure and workload surge at times
