MMA is embarking on a project to digitalise operational work activities to revolutionise efficiency, productivity, and innovation within the organisation. This initiative holds the potential to streamline workflows, eliminate redundant processes and harness the power of cutting-edge, industry-specific technology to propel the company into the future. The project will implement an HSE system to streamline forms and checklists, for HSE events reporting and injury management reporting. With the promise of greater agility, data-driven insights, and improved customer experience, this project represents a thrilling opportunity. The Junior HSE Officer role is a key part to the success of the project. We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, has attention to detail and can drive results to join us on this exciting journey.This role sits in the Health, Safety & Environment division and reports to the Project Manager – Modern Workflow and Records. This is a 3-Month Casual position based in our Perth CBD office, Western Australia.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform desktop risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential risks and define control measures across MMA’s worksites.
- Integrating operational documents and HSE practices into MMA’s software
- Timely completion of assigned tasks with minimal rework required.
- Identify areas for improvement in the vessel and subsea processes, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with, safety systems, practices, behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture. This includes:
- Encourage full implementation of the HSE system.
- Exhibit an uncompromising stand on safety risks.
- Understand the impact of safety across MMA’s worksites.
- Actively support project goals, collaborating closely with team members for efficient task execution and project success.
- A qualification in Health & Safety desirable
- Thorough comprehension of risk assessments and controls as a must
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong organisational skills
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Previous experience with system implementation desirable
- Experience in Health and Safety, Marine or Subsea operational roles desirable
