Junior Legal Assistant – Full time

We are a small personal injury firm located in West Melbourne. 

We have an opportunity for a self-motivated Junior Legal Assistant to join our dynamic and growing team.

The candidate will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under supervision. The role will suit anyone with administrative experience, attention to detail and a willingness to learn and grow.

Key Duties

In this role, you will support up to 3 professional fee earners and your day to day duties may include:

• Opening and closing matters;
• File management;
• Diary, phone and email management;
• Preparing briefs and Court books;
• Drafting general correspondence and Court documents;
• Liaising with clients and third parties;
• Conducting online searches;
• Some legal research tasks;
• General office duties;
• General administrative tasks (photocopying, scanning documents, sorting incoming mail, daily filing); and 
• Other adhoc tasks as requested.
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure;

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of one year previous experience as a personal assistant or legal secretary
• Excellent attention to detail together with strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload;
• A willingness to learn, positive approach and strong initiative;
• Intermediate to advanced skills in the MS Office suite;
• Being innovative as well as working autonomously;
• Providing professional and reliable support;
• Experience in WorkCover, Public Liability, Insurance Litigation and/or Personal Injury (preferred), and 
• Barracking for an AFL side.
