About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and curious Junior Power BI Analyst to join our growing team.
Reporting to the Senior BI Developer, you will play a key part in transforming raw data into actionable insights through compelling reports and dashboards.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into impactful visualisations using Power BI.
Your strong SQL skills will be utilised when extracting and cleaning data to ensure the foundation for accurate analysis.
Some of your additional responsibilities will include:
- Connect to various data sources, import, clean, and transform data for analysis.
- Develop and maintain data models in Power BI to ensure clean and accurate data representation.
- Write and maintain DAX formulas to perform complex calculations and data manipulations within Power BI.
- Perform data cleansing, transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis, basic data governance tasks, ensuring data security and accuracy.
- Document work processes and reports clearly and concisely.
- Assist senior analysts with more complex tasks.
The role will be primarily based in our Seven Hills head office, with plans to relocate to Norwest later in 2024.
Hybrid work options are also available once you are established in the role.
This is initially a 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of an extension or permanent position.
About You
This role may be best suited to a person who has one to three years of relevant experience.
You will ideally also possess the following skills and attributes:
- A bachelor’s degree in business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience with Power BI Desktop.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation functions and pivot tables.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
