Early Childhood Teacher - Key Worker (NDIS)

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing Early Childhood intervention treatments and therapies to newboarns and young young children with developmental delays or impairments
- Conduct thorough assessments of the child's disability, developmental needs, and family circumstances.
- Collaborate with the family and other relevant professionals to develop a person-centered plan that addresses the child's specific needs and goals.
- Work closely with the child's family to provide information, support, and guidance throughout the NDIS process.
- Foster positive relationships and effective communication between the family, service providers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Advocate on behalf of the child and their family to ensure that their unique needs and preferences are considered during the NDIS planning process.
- Assist the family in navigating any challenges or issues that may arise in accessing services and supports.
- Coordinate and facilitate access to a range of support services, therapies, and interventions tailored to the child's developmental needs.
- Collaborate with different service providers to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to service delivery.
- Liaise with educational institutions to ensure that the child's educational needs are addressed, and appropriate accommodations are in place.
- Support the family in understanding and accessing educational resources and inclusive programs.
- Empower the child and their family by providing information, resources, and strategies for enhancing the child's independence and development.
- Facilitate skill-building programs and activities that promote the child's participation in daily life.
- Provide support during challenging periods or crises, addressing the immediate needs of the child and their family.
- Collaborate with relevant professionals to develop crisis management plans when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, plans, and service provision.
- Generate reports as required by the NDIS or other relevant authorities.
- Foster connections between the child, their family, and the broader community to promote social inclusion and participation.
- Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the child's support plan and make adjustments as needed based on the child's progress and changing needs.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Occupational therephy, Speech Pathology, Disability Studies, Early Childhood Education, or similar discipline
- An Educator or currently working as a teacher
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities and their families is preferred but not required- employment, internships and volunter work.
- NDIS Knowledge - a strong understanding of of the NDIS and its processes.
- Proficient computer skills, advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using rostering software.

Other Requirements:
- Pass a National Criminal Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and roadworthy motor vehicle with minimum third-party cover (recommended full comprehensive insurance).
- Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet reasonable demands of the position.
- Inform Accessible Care and Lifestyle Services of any conditions that may impact or limit ability to carry out responsibilities required of the role.
- Be able to use a computer, use mobile devices, undertake manual handling, lifting, and bending.
- Current First Aid Certificate including CPR

Salary: $70,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
