CMAX operates a 78-bed capacity state-of-the-art facility, we are primely positioned, opposite the Royal Adelaide Hospital and are a part of the growing BioMed City precinct.
About the role:
CMAX is seeking Laboratory Assistants to work on a casual basis after hours and weekends. As a member of the Laboratory Team, the Laboratory Assistant will provide assistance in a range of technical tasks under the guidance and supervision of the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Coordinators that support CMAX to conduct its clinical studies to a high standard of quality as required by relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulations and guidelines.
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the successful person will be responsible for:
- Assist in the collection, processing, storage and sorting of biological samples and completion of required documentation;
- Assist in preparing biological samples for dispatch (as required);
- Performing and documenting laboratory equipment maintenance activities;
- Housekeeping of laboratory areas;
- Monitor and notify of order requirements for laboratory supplies;
- Participate in training activities (as required).
Please note: laboratory work does not involve any diagnostic or bioanalytical analysis on site
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant science or health care discipline would be highly regarded or equivalent experience inclusive of on the job training;
- Demonstrated general knowledge of the standards, procedures, regulations and standards relating to the conduct of clinical studies including ICH GCP;
- Be an enthusiastic self-starter;
- Have excellent interpersonal and team skills;
- Proven excellent attention to detail and computer competency;
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changes in priorities;
- Available to work out of business hours on weekends and week days as well as work night shift Please note: For training purposes, the initial period will require you work day shifts.
