The RoleThe Laboratory provides an analytical testing service to support the requirements of various processes and stakeholders operating within the site. Analytical data generated by the laboratory supports operations by facilitating process control and plant performance monitoring, environmental and compliance monitoring and through the evaluation of final product quality conformance to promote product sell through.The Laboratory Team Leader role will provide technical support to the Laboratory through the provision of technical expertise and mentoring of team members to ensure reliable and accurate analytical results are generated within agreed and specified turnaround times.It is a residential role, you will work full time at our Kemerton site, and will be required to work on operational shift roster.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and technical support to team members through mentoring to promote self-management and independent problem-solving capabilitiesDrive method development and validation activities Prepare technical documentationEvaluate the acceptability of analytical results in areas of responsibility and assume approved signatory responsibilitiesEnsure quality assurance within the Laboratory is consistently maintained in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirementsEffectively communicate all information to relevant stakeholders and team members at all timesOn OfferThe successful candidate will be provided with an attractive salary package and the following employee benefits:12% superannuationAnnual Incentive Plan SchemePrivate Health Insurance subsidy - up to $1500 per yearNovated LeasingLife Insurance and Income Protection Insurance About YouAlbemarle is a values-driven company that appreciates and promotes resilience, equity, inclusion and diversity of background, experience and expertise. As the successful candidate you will possess:Solid laboratory experienceSound knowledge through the application of various analytical techniques for example but not limited to ICP-AES, GF-AAS, XRF, PSD and classical techniquesWell- developed leadership skills including high level communication, coaching, influencing and negotiation skillsDemonstrated laboratory system development experienceWorking knowledge of laboratory health and safety requirements and expectationsWorking knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirementsSupervisory experience highly desirableProduction plant processing experience highly desirableEducation/Qualification RequirementsTertiary qualification in Science and/ or Chemistry or a related disciplineAlbemarle requires successful applicants to pass a pre-employment medical, and complete on-boarding verification of employment history, right to work, qualifications and police clearance.
