Chandler Macleod are seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Technologist, to join an innovative food manufacturing company, located in Hobart. To provide analytical chemistry support to operations at production sites in CUB. Sample management and testing of beverages and related in-process samples from CUB plants. Provide timely and accurate analytical data to various teams and key customers to enable business goals to be met.
The primary functions of this role, including but are not limited to
1. Quality Assurance Services & Sample Management
- Sample or receive samples according to Asahi and CUB Methods and MSP
- Ensure samples are prepared with intact integrity according to CUB Methods
- Analyse samples as per business standards, maintaining the quality and traceability of all analytical data.
3.Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment - Support recruitment, on-boarding & off-boarding of staff professionally & in line with the business strategic HR objectives
4.Communicate Effectively in the Workplace: - Respect, shared responsibility, open and honest feedback evident in day-to-day interactions

Qualifications & Experience A bachelor’s degree in chemistry with 3+ years’ experience as an analytical chemist, preferably food & beverage
Your required competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Experience)
• Excellent analytical chemistry skills and knowledge
• Excellent organizational skills
• High proficiency in chromatographic analytical instrumentation – HPLC and/or GC
• Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Understanding and application of ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 and Good Laboratory Practices
• Knowledge and application of OHSE specific to laboratories
• General knowledge of brewing and other beverage manufacturing processes and components
• Advanced computer skills and report writing capabilities.
• Problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Good statistical understanding and the application of statistical tools in manufacturing /laboratory environments
• Ability to work independently with confidence to escalate analytical issues with supervisor as they arise
SAP familiarity
• Regular participation in scheduled taste sessions
• Basic taster skills to be developed
• Advanced taster skills desirable in time
Ongoing Casual Mon – Friday 06:00 – 14:30 and 07:30 – 16:00 (alternate weeks)
