The Opportunity
Veolia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Landfill Engineer to join the Resource Recovery team based in QLD. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the planning, engineering and project management initiatives for Veolia’s QLD Resource Recovery portfolio of landfill and resource recovery assets.

What you'll be responsible for
- Providing comprehensive planning, engineering, and project management support in relation to the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of landfill capital works projects across a portfolio of six landfill assets.
- Lead master planning activities including assistance with site whole of life plans and landfill closure and post-closure planning.
- Optimising leachate infrastructure and landfill gas systems across sites.
- Measuring and recording operational KPIs on a monthly basis and working with site managers to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project management and contract supervision, including the completion of construction quality assurance processes and ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Completing ongoing airspace modelling, cell fill planning and annual provision reviews.
What you'll need to be successful
- Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
- Experience in Landfill Engineering highly desirable
- Valid driver’s licence
- Proven project management skills
- Ability to comprehend operational impacts and work collaboratively with the operations team to deliver improvement projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities
