So, we can find more ways to sustainably feed our nation - today and tomorrow.Our Digital function is currently undergoing an exciting transformation journey and is now seeking a Last Mile Planning Manager to join the Online Network & Customer Delivery team.About the roleReporting to the Group Product Manager you will be responsible for leading the Last Mile Planning and optimisation function with the Online Network & Growth team.
You will be required to develop and execute Last Mile initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce cost to serve across the home delivery network.You willYou will be managing home delivery network capacity across a range of fulfilment centres. This includes developing, implementing and reviewing van capacity plans for all home delivery stores. You will be responsible for the commercial outcomes of the Last Mile Planning function and responsible for results of your team and support teams and squads to achieve deliverables.There will be a focus on continuous improvement of planning processes and exploring options for automation and have the ability to quickly see opportunities and risks and track projects accordingly.
As part of this role, you will be accountable for delivery proposition review for home delivery catchment areas and completing regular delivery catchment reviews for all geographic regions.You have exceptional stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate progress of initiatives and provide regular updates.Experience with route optimisation tools is a key requirement for this role.You'll need
- 3+ years' experience within Last Mile Planning function across a large network of fulfilment centres
- Detailed knowledge of Last Mile Planning and operational execution activities
- Experience using complex route optimisation tools
- Experience translating large and complex data dets into meaningful insights and actions
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of key cost lines for Last Mile and how to influence them
- A consistent history of delivering measurable results for both customer and the business
- Experience in large, complex organisations
- Experience working with large retail or strategy functions preferred
- Experience working in fast paced environments and comfortable with change
- Demonstrated knowledge of the eCommerce grocery market, in particular home delivery and Last Mile
- Highly collaborative, able to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders (both technical and non- technical)
- Strong analytical skills including the use of Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Listen well, build consensus, drive hard to decisions, and push the pace
- Skilled in translating business process and customer insights into product concepts and solutions
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
