About you & us At Arrow MPS we are dedicated to achieving happy customers and take pride in the work that we do. We are all committed to show respect to each other. You'll do what you say and say what you do. If you're older, you'll help mentor the younger ones, and if you're younger you'll have an energy and passion for self improvement, either way you'll be keen to learn. We have regularly proven that every role in our organisation has a pathway to other roles, up, down and sideways in the organisation.
You have a technical background, and definitely want to continue to learn about engineering and how to make things. You will enjoy working with and learning from other people and will be keen to learn other skills and take on other responsibilities as may be required from time to time.
We are a full service machining shop utilising manual and CNC machines to give a very broad capability. Where we do not have the machines to complete a job we regularly outsource to our large network of sub contractors to enable us to provide the finished part to our customer regardless of the complexity or number of different processes required.
Manual Lathe Machinist Due to a retirement, and increasing workload in the shop, we have an opportunity for someone to join our team. You will be a highly skill machinist who can regularly operate in tight tolerances, and a person with the ability to identify and implement improvements in processes.
Whilst not essential you may have some experience in CNC and can help or transition in to CNC production of parts on our fleet of CNC machines. You will have experience in machining a variety of steels, aluminium and other materials.
The key deliverables for the role are;
Preparation of materials for machining.
The efficient setting up and running of work through the Lathes.
Inspection of cutting tips and holders.
The inspection of finished parts to ensure they meet the drawing requirements.
Deburring of machined parts (usually within cycle).
Contribute to the management of the work flow through the area.
Cleaning of the work area and machinery.
Promote safety and efficiency in all processes through participation in regular safety meetings.
Follow the internal quality system for part production.
Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Opportunity, growth and self determination are important for everyone. We'll support you to be and do what you want to. And you'll be well paid for the role.
You will need the right to work in Australia, and we won't be sponsoring anyone to come, so please don't click if you can't. This is an on-site role in Dandenong South that cannot be completed from home.
