Due to continued growth within the business, FBR are excited to be adding an Engineer to join the Mechanical team. Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, this role is perfect for someone that loves technology and wants to be involved in the “next big thing”.
You will contribute to the evolution of FBR’s product development journey working from concept to completion by being part of the team responsible for defining the functional requirements and ensuring the design meets the specifications by associated testing.
To be perfect for the role you will be able to:
- Model mechanical machine assemblies and parts using Creo.
- Design and deliver engineering solutions from conceptual design to drafting, test, validation and certification
- Resolve technical problems to enable project delivery
- Ensure compliance with document standards, including Specifications, Requirements, Calculations, Test Procedures, Manuals, Reports, etc.
- Improve product quality by using continuous improvement methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design of Experiments (DoE), Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA)
To be perfect for FBR you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronic, Industrial) or equivalent
- Previous experience in production and manufacturing, preferably in a PDM and ERP environment.
- Knowledge of best practice 3D CAD modelling techniques and document management processes. Creo and Windchill experience beneficial
- Experience with simulation tools and Finite Element Analysis
- Demonstrated previous experience in:
- New product development
- Workshop and manufacturing environments
- Advanced Excel and MS Project
- The ability to work as part of a team and on your own.
- The desire to work outside your normal scope of works.
You will be required to conduct a modelling and proficiency test using Creo 7. This will involve modelling a part from a supplied sample or drawing and then creating a set of drawings showing dimensions and tolerances required to have it manufactured and fit with a mating part.
