Lead Pharmacist - Medicines Strategy

The Lead Pharmacist – Medicines Strategy (Temporary – 12 months) will provide expert professional knowledge and skills to oversee, identify and strategise opportunities for the efficient and effective use of medications at Western Health . Specific tasks include the oversight of PBS operations and pharmacy contributions to the Western Health Drugs and Therapeutics Committee. Monitoring and evaluating potential medication related financial opportunities and in consultation with stakeholders, developing and assisting with their implementation. Overseeing and assisting the Out of Stocks Pharmacist to maximise patient medicine access and minimise the supply chain risk.To be Successful in this Role, you will:

• Have excellent communication skills
• Have experience leading and managing a pharmacy team
• Have significant experience as a registered pharmacist
• Successfully work in a dynamic environment
• Need good time management skills
• Have a strong understanding of pharmacy purchasing and procurement processes
• Have experience in efficient financial management and ability to control drug expenditure

Selection Criteria Essential: Holds general registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA
Essential: Relevant post graduate degree/diploma
Essential: Experience in efficient financial management and ability to control drug expenditure
Essential: Understanding of pharmacy purchasing and procurement processes
Essential: Well-developed written, oral, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict management skills and the ability to co-operate with hospital staff and patients
