How you’ll make a difference
Our Transport Maintenance Team are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the team as a Leading Hand Road Pavements on a fixed term contract to June 2024.
Based at our Miami Depot, you will form part of a work team that perform maintenance duties and/or construction operations with particular emphasis on road profiling.
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Provide daily supervision in a Leading Hand role to a maintenance crew.
- Ability to work with asphalt and the operation of plant associated with pavement repair.
- Perform skilled and specialist tasks associated with the maintenance of the City's roads, footpath and drainage network.
- Demonstrated ability to operate minor equipment and machinery associated with various works tasks.
- Complete various organisational forms.
- Control of public at worksites.
- Manage work orders in SAP via a mobile device (iPad).
What you bring to the role
- Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a manner conducive to creating a cooperative team environment.
- Sound physical health to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of this position.
- Effective numeracy and literacy skills commensurate with the requirements of the position.
- MR Driver’s Licence (Mandatory).
- General Construction Induction White Card.
The successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, skills and experience between level 5 and level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award - Operational.
