How you’ll make a difference
Our Transport Maintenance team are seeking to appoint three motivated, hard-working individuals as Leading Hands – Roads and Drainage at our Pimpama, Carrara and Miami Depots.
Based at one of these depots, you will perform specialist tasks associated with the maintenance and construction of the City’s Roads and stormwater drainage networks.
Responsibilities include:
Leading a two-person crew to conduct the maintenance of Council roads, footpaths and stormwater drainage networks.
Lay and finish concrete kerb and channel, footpaths, bikeways and associated works.
Lay and finish exposed aggregated, stencilled and stamped concrete.
Maintenance of stormwater drainage manholes, gully pits, inlet/outlet structures, pipelines and associated works.
Operate minor equipment and machinery associated with various maintenance work tasks.
Conduct minor timber works.
Report and monitor workplace hazards and risks.
Manage work orders in SAP via an iPad.
What you bring to your new role
Certificate III in Civil Construction (or working towards, with completion to occur within 12 months).
Drivers Licence Class MR Unrestricted.
General Induction Construction (White Card).
A high-level of customer service and communication skills, a can-do attitude and the ability to think on your feet.
A team player who has the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team.
Recent labouring experience within civil construction and/or bitumen.
Sound physical health in order to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of the position.
Effective numeracy and literacy skills commensurate with the requirements of the position
