The Opportunity
We currently have a full-time vacancy for a dynamic and motivated Learning and Development Officer to join our Adelaide operations team located in Lonsdale. This is an exciting opportunity to join both a growing department and a growing company.
You will be working in a fast paced and energetic environment that will encourage you to develop both your administration and interpersonal skills.
Role Responsibilities
This role will report directly to the Depot Manager Manager and will be responsible for the training and assessment of employees focusing on driving skills, classroom training and assessing potential employees. The main duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining constructive working relationships with management and staff
- Assessing and coaching new and existing employees in on-road driving skills, customer service, workplace safety and ticket machine usage
- Facilitating effective, interactive group training by creating a positive learning environment
- Conducting technical training in on road driving skills, vehicle and route familiarisation with positive outcomes for learners
- Carrying out coaching sessions and refresher training in technical driving skills
- Maintaining currency on all policies, procedures and legal requirements as well as best practice
- Managing your own daily schedule to ensure all training activity and assessment is completed
- Researching and utilising new learning and development content, methods and materials for training
- Working both autonomously and within a team environment to achieve KPI’s and excellent training outcomes
The successful applicant will possess
- A certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Completion of the unit Addressing Adult, Language, Literacy and Numeracy
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- A keen eye for detail, is meticulous with paperwork and the ability to maintain focus under pressure
- Ability to quickly learn and understand material to facilitate training sessions
- Possess a demonstrated ability in successfully engaging learner groups using interactive and interesting techniques Intermediate computer skills
- Excellent driving history and customer service record
- Willingness to adapt in a changing environment
- Current Drivers Licence (HR)
The following would be considering an advantage:
- A current accreditation as a Heavy Vehicle Instructor/Assessor (HR)
- Willingness to travel between Busways existing depots within SA and NSW
